Introduction

The Pastor & Reiss Foundation is dedicated to preserving the natural world and supporting vulnerable communities. We act where urgency meets responsibility — protecting ecosystems, defending endangered species, and improving the lives of those most in need. Our mission is simple:  to safeguard the future of our planet and those who depend on it. We combine direct field operations with scientific collaboration, using our 50‑meter motor yacht Asteria as a mobile platform for research, conservation, and community support.

Who We Are

We are a family with two boys, united by a shared passion for the ocean, nature, and exploration. Over the past years, we have traveled extensively around the world aboard Asteria, reaching some of the most remote and untouched regions on the planet — including the Northwest Passage, Svalbard, Greenland, Nunavut region, Alaska, Antarctica, St Helena, Clipperton Island, Tristan da Cunha, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the Sea of Cortés, Socorro, the Cocos Islands, as well as French Polynesia, Vanuatu, and Fiji.

Our Mission

Our mission is to protect what matters most – our planet, its wildlife, and vulnerable communities – by supporting impactful projects and inspiring others to act.

Our Mission – Three Pillars

1. Protecting the Planet
2. Supporting Vulnerable Communities
3. Defending Wildlife & Oceans

We support initiatives that preserve fragile ecosystems, combat climate degradation, and promote sustainable solutions for future generations. Our approach integrates scientific monitoring with on‑ground action, ensuring that interventions are informed by data and adapted to local realities.

We provide direct aid and long‑term support to disadvantaged populations, improving access to essential resources, education, and opportunity. From clean water systems to educational sponsorships, our projects are designed to build resilience and foster self‑sufficiency.

We actively contribute to the protection of endangered species and marine environments, recognizing their critical role in maintaining the balance of life on Earth. Through targeted conservation projects and scientific expeditions, we help safeguard biodiversity in some of the world’s most sensitive regions.

Areas of action

Our work is structured around several thematic priorities:

· Protection of endangered species – with a focus on marine mammals, seabirds, and threatened terrestrial species such as the black rhino.
· Ocean preservation and marine biodiversity – supporting research, mapping, and conservation in under‑studied regions.
· Support for underserved communities – emphasizing clean water, education, and sustainable livelihoods.
· Scientific contribution to environmental research – sharing data with global programs and collaborating with research institutions.
· Access to essential resources – water, education, and basic infrastructure as foundations for resilience.
